Pensioner’s Christmas Lunch 2023

On Tuesday 5th December, Church Fenton Community Hub and The White Horse hosted a Christmas Lunch in The White Horse for 64 local pensioners. They were treated to a traditional Christmas Dinner followed by a choice of sweet. Entertainment was in the form of a table quiz and 4 games of bingo, and ended with a prize draw. Everyone attending received a small favour and a Community Hub pen. The Community Hub has received many messages of appreciation from those who attended. Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee 2022

2022 saw the celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. In recognition of this special occasion Church Fenton Community Hub, with the backing of the Parish Council, undertook the planting of the flower beds at the entrances to the village and various other sites within the village. The planting was carried out by the members of the Hub committee using a combination of red and white begonias and blue lobelia to reflect the Royal Occasion. Although the beds were kept well watered, the exceptionally hot summer took its toll but the plants survived until well after the Platinum Jubilee day celebrations.
